How to come

Moscow is serviced by three international airports: — Sheremetyevo (terminals D, E, F), Vnukovo (terminal B) and Domodedovo. High-speed Aeroexpress trains cover the route between each international airport and Moscow center train stations that are connected with metro (subway) stations, see

Moscow subway is world-known for its beautiful design. It is the easiest, safest and cheapest way to travel around Moscow. Institute of Geography RAS is 5-7 minutes walk distance from metro stations Polyanka (Line no.9, grey) or Tretiakovskaya (Line no.6, orange), see the map here:

Important: please be aware that most probably, to travel to Moscow, you will need to obtain visa issued in the Russian embassy or consulate in your country. Please, refer to the Visa info section.
